It is our great pleasure to announce the “rebirth” of Integrative Medicine in Nephrology and Andrology, an open-access, high-quality, and medical journal in the English language. The journal editorial office has been translocated to China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences Xiyuan, Hospital in Beijing, which is the top-ranked hospitals on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) throughout the country and in the world, with all the necessary disciplines of TCM, advanced equipment, and solid scientific research strength. Meanwhile, the journal was renamed as “Integrative Medicine in Nephrology and Andrology (IMNA)”.
First of all, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the former Editor-in-Chief, Professor Wen Peng from Putuo Hospital, Shanghai University of TCM, and the whole Editorial Board Members. Without their great efforts in the past years, it is hard to believe we could go this far. We will follow their path and push IMNA forward to a brighter future.
IMNA, originally launched as Journal of Integrative Nephrology and Andrology in 2014, aims at promoting basic research and clinical practice of renal and andrological diseases. The journal covers all areas of integrated Traditional and Western Medicine, including Chinese Medicine, Ethnographic Medicine, and Modern Medicine. IMNA is devoted to publishing the latest methods, theories, and achievements of basic science and translational research and treatments in the field of pathology and physiology of kidney diseases, andrological diseases, and urologic diseases. From 2021, IMNA will be published in an open volume but still peer reviewed.
We have built a brand-new Editorial Board. Professor Ping Li from the National Health Commission China-Japan Friendship Hospital and Professor Hui-yao Lan from the Chinese University of Hong Kong have taken on the role of Co-Editor-in-Chief for our newly selected Editorial Board, and the Executive Editor-in-Chief is Professor Renhuan Yu from China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences Xiyuan Hospital. The new editorial board consists of a group of prominent experts and professors in the field of nephrology and andrology from all over the world. They have great enthusiasm to increase the knowledge of nephrology and andrology; to explore innovative approaches for disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention; to understand the impact of the diseases on community; and to contribute to success of IMNA.
This is an era of thriving integrative biomedical research, which has seen the field of renal and andrological disease research expanding into a multidisciplinary community that seeks new and innovative ways to tackle the diseases. At this moment of IMNA rebirth, we look forward to providing a unique and powerful platform that embraces the breadth of this community, from preclinical science to translational and clinical work. Ultimately, our goal is to serve as a convergent point for scientists from diverse fields. Our scope is broad, but it is unified by our mission to publish the research that addresses our needs and goals of health care.
Finally, we would like to thank all reviewers, authors, and editors, whose support and suggestions have made the smooth transition of this journal possible. It takes an adventurous spirit to submit to a “new” journal, and we are ever grateful that you might take a chance on us! We warmly and sincerely welcome contributions from experts and scholars worldwide. With your tremendous efforts and support, IMNA is set for an excellent future.
